Join Restorative Action Alliance on February 19, 2025 at 7:30pm (ET) for our upcoming Webinar:
A Discussion with Elizabeth Clemants About a Restorative Approach to Childhood Sexual Abuse.
In this 75 minute webinar, we’ll discuss with Elizabeth Clemants the foundational concepts of her approach to helping people heal after childhood sexual harm has occurred.
The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session. Don’t miss this opportunity to deepen your understanding and contribute to the conversation.
Topics we’ll explore include:
- The importance of a nuanced understanding of child sexual abuse and how customary tools to address it often perpetuate more harm
- Hidden Water’s three-part journey and Theory of Change
- Three skills that all adults must develop in order to prevent sexual harm from taking hold of their communities
- Healing circles: Who participates? How do they work? How do they work toward prevention?
- Practical ways people can apply what they have learned in their own work and communities (large and small)
Who Should Attend:
This webinar is for those impacted by the criminal legal system, survivors, mental health professionals, educators, and anyone interested in the potential of restorative practices and healing circles to affect change.
About Our Featured Speaker:
Elizabeth Clemants is the Founder and Executive Director of Hidden Water, a non-profit organization that helps families heal and resolve conflict around the painful impact of childhood sexual abuse. She is also the author of the newly released book: Healing Together: A Family Guide to Recovering from Sexual Harm. Elizabeth is the principal trainer at Planning Change, whose mission it is to educate and empower individuals to affect meaningful change in the conflicts around them. She has always been interested in the intersection of social work and the law. She attended Columbia University School of Social Work where she graduated with a Masters in Social Work and a Minor in Law.
“We believe everyone in the family can heal from anything, including child sexual abuse.”
